I think it's safe to say most Americans equate the German Mercedes Benz brand with slick, fast, luxurious cars they'll probably never afford. So when Americans visit us here, they're always amused to see the iconic Mercedes Benz emblem on garbage trucks, ambulances, buses, and maintenance vehicles.
It's weird to think that we've been here long enough now that I don't even notice it anymore. In fact, for the rest of my life I'll probably look at cars like this:
and always be reminded, however subtly, of a big, dirty, dinged dump truck with a naked lady air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror.
